Singles holidays, the big misunderstanding about it

Singles holidays? I will not book such thing! I’m not this desperate single. I really don’t feel like traveling with a group of desperate singles.
Your thoughts too? Because certainly once mine! But it doesn’t make sense, at all…

The purpose

The purpose of singles holidays is actually purely the fact that you don’t have to travel alone. Because going away as “a solo traveler” (not to be confused with “the single traveler”,) is not for everyone.
Backpacking while sleeping in hostels can be fine if you have a small budget and want to travel solo. But if you feel like holidays should be filled with more luxury, you need to spend almost as much as a solo traveler as when traveling as a couple. Because prices for rooms are not much cheaper when sleeping there alone.

And if prices are not the problem, then there is this social thing. Are you happy to be on your own for days or do you prefer to be in company of others? And if the latter is the case, do you easily make contact? Because if not, you will be completely unhappy as a solo traveler. Than singles holidays is more you thing.

The type of people

What types of people go on a singles holidays? Well, all kinds of!

When booking singles holidays you can often already see the age and gender of the other people who booked the holiday. Unless of course you are (one of) the first. But otherwise you can already get some information at this point.
There are travelers in every age category.

Singles holidays are generally a bit more luxurious than backpacking trips and the organization also wants to earn something.
That’s why you see people who really love to travel and save for it all year, but also many people who earn a bit more money (and often of higher education).

Type of trips

What types of singles holidays there are? Well again, all kinds of!
Active holidays, beach holidays, party holidays, winter sports, you name it …
Because of this there are many oraganizations with different target groups. So there is something for you too!

Love

Is there no love aspect or purpose in finding a relationship on singles holidays?

No, there is not. Not at all the goal!

But hey, you can meet a lover everywhere and if you both like to travel, you might find a special spark with someone in the group….. Who knows, only a very nice benifit right?

Oh, and by the way. I also traveled during singles holidays with people who had a partner at home. A partner who didn’t like to travel, was too busy with work and also one with a fear of flying.
