Asian meatballs

Fancy an Asian twist on your traditional meatballs?
One tip from me: wear gloves! (Otherwise your hands will smell like garlic for a long, long time ……)

Ingredients per person:
100 grams of minced meat
butter (spray or sticks)
1/4 egg (beaten)
1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs
1 small clove of garlic pressed / chopped
35 grams of tomato paste (1/2 a small can)
2 (tomato paste) cans of water
1/2 tablespoon of chili paste (sambal oelek)
25cc sweet soy sauce
Fried onions

Hoe?:

Place the minced meat, pepper, salt, egg, bread crumbs and garlic in a bowl. Combine all ingredients with your hands. Once done, roll into small balls.
Bake them till they are hard and scoop them out of the pan.

Add the tomato paste, the water, the sambal and the soy sauce to the butter that is still in your pan.
Let it thicken slightly and then add the fried onions. About the amount of 1/3 onion 2/3 sauce.

Put the meatballs back in the pan and let them slowly ‘steam through’ in the sauce.

If it gets too dry add some water and stir well.

Eat them with rice, green beans and prawn crackers. But they are also delicious with almost everything else!
