Declutter with me in November – 30 days challenge

Maybe you already heard of the minimalistic challenge. Declutter 30 days and get rid of 465 things. Starting with 1 item on the 1sth of the month, 2 on the 2nd, up to 30 things on the 30th of the mond. Tried it, but it gets harder and harder! I wanted to get rid of more stuff the first days, because I was full of energy going into this challenge. And because of that it was not that motivating. I stopped after about two weeks.

Doing it in reverse

So my plan is to try it again this november, but then starting with getting rid of the most the first day!
Doing 30 things away on November 1st and just one last thing on November 30th.
Than I can get rid of most when I am full of energy and really motivated. And it will get easier and easier.

It’s a bit harder to know how many to get rid of each day, so I made a planner.
You can download and print this planner here.

I left some room where you can put in advance ideas what you can declutter each day. Or after decluttering put notes on what to do with the things you decluttered.

Is it easier?

I’m curious if I find this easier than the minimalstic challenge. If you also did the minimalistic challenge and you are in, please let me know what your thoughts are!
Also, I hope I have enought stuff to get rit off. I moved in Januari this year and already did half of the minimalstic challenge in July. But we will see! We don’t need that much stuff anyway.

Plans for the first week

The first week is 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25 and 24 things.
I have a lot of clothes and lost some weight, so I’ll start with my clothes. Hoping to get rid of only clothes the first two days.
Then my plan is to go through my socks, underwear, make-up and nailpolish, bedding, swimwear and travelgear. Hopefully the first week is done by then!
But if not: office supplies! Do I really need to keep all those pens and markers that don’t work anymore? Office supplies is my reserve category this week.

If you don’t have that much clothes, you might wanna start with cd’s and dvd’s. I already decluttered that before I moved last january. So nothing for me to in that section.

One more rule (for myself)

I don’t have a car or big garage to store the things I decluttered, so I made one more rule for myself.
I need to have a purpose for all the things I get rid of in the next two days. So things I wanna give to friends, sell online, etc. I need to know where to go with it in the next two days and the rest goes in the trash can or to the thrift store (one visit a week).
